Softball Recap: Hanover Nighthawks vs. Fairfield Knights
Hanover couldn't beat Fairfield on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Nighthawks lost 22-4 to the Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on April 2nd.
Hanover saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Valentine, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Valentine has hit this season.
Hanover has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Fairfield, they moved to 7-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Coincidentally, Hanover and Fairfield will both be playing Biglerville the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Canners at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Nighthawks will host them at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
