Basketball Game Preview: Palo Verde Panthers vs. Faith Lutheran Crusaders

Palo Verde hasn't had much luck against Faith Lutheran recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Palo Verde Panthers will welcome the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 6:30 p.m.

Palo Verde is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They took a blow against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, falling 64-19. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Faith Lutheran). They breezed by Las Vegas to the tune of 58-28 on Thursday. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Wildcats are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palo Verde better focus on containing Aliyah Maese and Caylyn Young as the pair were huge in Faith Lutheran's win. Maese posted 12 points and three steals, while Young earned 15 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Young a new career-high. London Camacho was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Faith Lutheran was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Palo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Faith Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
