Basketball Recap: Fayetteville-Perry's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Whiteoak last Friday, Fayetteville-Perry came back down to earth. The Fayetteville-Perry Rockets took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions on Tuesday. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Miami Valley Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin French, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. French's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Colin Gearding, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points along with five boards and three steals.

Fayetteville-Perry's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-3. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayetteville-Perry will head out to challenge Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 177 points over their last three matchups. Miami Valley Christian Academy and Cincinnati Country Day will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miami Valley Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.2 points per game this season.
