Recap: Benjamin Buccaneers vs. King's Academy Lions
The Benjamin Buccaneers entered their tilt with the King's Academy Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Benjamin managed a 75-70 victory over King's Academy on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given Benjamin's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while King's Academy is ranked 44th).
Benjamin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Cosby-Mosley led the charge by scoring 26 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Cosby-Mosley has scored at least 25% of Benjamin's points. Adam Balogoun-ali was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 6 steals.
Benjamin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for King's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Benjamin will head out on the road to face off against Saint Andrew's at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for King's Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oxbridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. Oxbridge Academy and King's Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
