Basketball Recap: Providence Hall Falls Despite Big Games from Emilia Chiarenza and Kaydence Mataele

Providence Hall was the 29-28 winner over Altamont when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell 40-32 to the Longhorns on Wednesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Providence Hall's loss came despite strong showings from Kaydence Mataele and Emilia Chiarenza. Mataele posted eight points and 11 rebounds, while Chiarenza almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Leading Altamont to victory were Chezney Bywater and Jada Miles. Bywater put up ten points and eight rebounds, while Miles almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 boards. Those nine points gave Miles a new career-high.

Providence Hall's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Altamont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Providence Hall will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. As for Altamont, they will be taking part in a tournament against Plateau Valley at 7:30 p.m. on December 4.
