Recap: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. Sickles Gryphons
The Tampa Bay Tech Titans suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Sickles, falling 68-31. Tampa Bay Tech was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-15.
Despite the loss, Tampa Bay Tech had strong showings from Azjannie Culberth, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, and Kalese Salter, who scored 13 points along with eight steals. Culberth is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Tampa Bay Tech's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. As for Sickles, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Tampa Bay Tech and Alonso will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Sickles, they will head out on the road to challenge Spoto at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Spoto is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
