Volleyball Game Preview: Animo Pat Brown Gryphons vs. Animo Venice Pirates

The Animo Pat Brown Gryphons will face off against the Animo Venice Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Animo Pat Brown came up short against WISH Academy and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Gryphons in their meetings with the Owls: they've now lost three in a row.

Animo Pat Brown came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 22-26, 25-22, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice didn't have quite enough to beat Burton on Monday and fell 3-2.

Animo Venice actually scored more points across those five sets (115-114), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 17-15.

Animo Venice's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Animo Pat Brown, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-5.

Everything went Animo Pat Brown's way against Animo Venice in their previous meeting back in September, as Animo Pat Brown made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Gryphons repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
