Recap: Batesville Pioneers vs. Valley View Blazers
The Batesville Pioneers were the 16-7 winner over the Valley View Blazers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Batesville lost to Valley View on the road by a decisive 28-10 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Batesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Valley View is ranked 17th).
Cole Bentz threw for 91 yards on 11 of 25 attempts. Conner Foree was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Owen Mclaughlin rushed for 125 yards.
Valley View can attribute much of their success to Anthony Feliz, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Carson Turley also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Batesville are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Valley View, Southside, and Brookland. As for Valley View, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Batesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Valley View will be playing in front of their home fans against Maumelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maumelle will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
