Preview: Trinity Christian Trojans vs. Antonian Prep Apaches

After each having a week off, the Trinity Christian Trojans and the Antonian Prep Apaches will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on November 17th. Trinity Christian will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Last Friday, Trinity Christian was fully in charge, breezing past Nolan Catholic 45-14 on the road. The win was just what Trinity Christian needed coming off of a 56-28 loss in their prior contest.

Trinity Christian relied on the efforts of Aidan Mills, who threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and Matthew Cortez, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Ben Schumacher did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Trinity Christian's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Bobby Fish and Luke Dor? who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Antonian Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to St. Thomas Catholic at home by a decisive 42-24 margin. While losing is never fun, Antonian Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 281st, while St. Thomas Catholic is ranked 84th).

Despite the loss, Antonian Prep got a solid performance out of Jayce Toscano, who threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Trinity Christian's win lifted them to 3-7 while Antonian Prep's loss dropped them down to 8-2.
