Baseball Recap: Brookland-Cayce Comes Up Short

Brookland-Cayce managed to slip by Berkeley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats lost 11-5 to the Berkeley Stags on Saturday. The Bearcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Brookland-Cayce saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Bullis, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that Bullis launched this season. Brogan Sox was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Brookland-Cayce now has a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Brookland-Cayce will take on South Aiken at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Brookland-Cayce has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Berkeley, they will square off against Colleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Colleton County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Berkeley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
