Softball Recap: Desert Oasis Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Desert Oasis's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Mojave Rattlers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Diamondbacks, who have now won six matches by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Ali Perkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cassidy Infante was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Nolly Newbry, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Desert Oasis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Desert Oasis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mojave, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Desert Oasis will take on Foothill at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Diamondbacks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Mojave, they will challenge Clark at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rattlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
