Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall came into this matchup off a tough 20-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Fulton Hornets by a score of 66-64 on Friday. The Owls have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from Chase Thompson, who shot 52% from the field on his way to 32 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Kueker, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Fulton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will be home for the holidays to greet Moberly at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Fulton, they will welcome Boonville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will be up against the Pirates' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
