Spartanburg is 7-2 against Wade Hampton since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Spartanburg Vikings will take on the Wade Hampton Generals at 6:30 p.m. Spartanburg has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Spartanburg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against James F. Byrnes on Friday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 13-2.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Wade Hampton sidestepped Gaffney for a 4-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Generals.

Will Kay was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Wade Hampton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Spartanburg, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Spartanburg was able to grind out a solid win over Wade Hampton in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spartanburg since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
