Basketball Recap: Morgan Little's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Neuse Christian Academy over Thales Academy Apex

Neuse Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 49-31 fall against the Thales Academy Apex Titans. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Titans are ranked 185th).

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Morgan Little, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. That's the most points Little has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lila Sarant, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Leading Thales Academy Apex to victory were Anna Maass and Kate Sproul. Maass dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards, while Sproul put up six points and seven steals. The matchup was Maass' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Duke, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Neuse Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Thales Academy Apex, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Neuse Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Thales Academy Apex will take on Thales Academy Rolesville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
