Football Recap: Plant Drops Season-High Score on Tampa Bay Tech

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plant). They walked away with a 20-12 victory over the Tampa Bay Tech Titans on Tuesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 12-6 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2021.

Plant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Pittman led the charge by throwing for 164 yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground.

Plant didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adalya Rinehart and McKenzey Craig.

Although Tampa Bay Tech took the loss, they still got scores from Tiana Harris and Aniya Miller.

The victory made it two in a row for Plant and bumps their season record up to 3-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points in those games. As for Tampa Bay Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Plant will head out to square off against Seffner Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will square off against King at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
