Volleyball Recap: Thomas Worthington Takes a Loss

Thomas Worthington and Pickerington North squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Thomas Worthington had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The CARDINALS haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Thomas Worthington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-22.

Ella Flores paced Thomas Worthington's offense, picking up ten kills. Flores got some help from Sydney Roberts and her 23 assists. Finally, Hope Adams kept Thomas Worthington's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Alexa Thomas was the offensive standout of the match as she had 19 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

Thomas Worthington's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Pickerington North, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Thomas Worthington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pickerington North, they will square off against Olentangy Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
