Basketball Recap: St. Margaret's Starts Season with Victory Against Tarbut V' Torah

St. Margaret took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They put the hurt on the Tarbut V' Torah Lions with a sharp 82-61 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Tartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Defeat or not, Tarbut V' Torah got some senior leadership from Ari Varon and Jonathan Groner. Varon posted 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Groner dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Jonathan Marzouk was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Looking ahead, St. Margaret's won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calvary Chapel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tarbut V' Torah, they will square off against Pacifica at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
