Baseball Recap: Antelope Has No Trouble Against Grant

Antelope never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Grant on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Pacers. Considering the Titans have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tristan Hofferber made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adrian Martinez and Andrew Hodson did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez scored three runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-3, while Hodson scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Solario, who scored a run and stole three bases.

The victory got Antelope back to even at 4-4. As for Grant, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Antelope beat Grant by a score of 11-2 on Friday.
