Volleyball Recap: Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Sioux on Tuesday, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn came back down to earth. The Hawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pocahontas Indians on Saturday. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Pocahontas, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Coming up, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn will welcome Gehlen Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pocahontas, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire on the 20th.
