Volleyball Recap: Scituate Gets the Win

Scituate hadn't done well against Whitman-Hanson Regional recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Sailors came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Sailors, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Scituate had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-17, 25-20.

Anna Bradley paced Scituate's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bradley got some help from Serena Whitelock and her 25 assists. Tessa Valcourt controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Scituate's record is now 2-3. As for Whitman-Hanson Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Scituate is set to square off against their familiar foe Hanover at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Whitman-Hanson Regional will take on rival Plymouth North at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
