Basketball Recap: Eastern Hancock Royals vs. Triton Central Tigers

The Eastern Hancock Royals were the 66-59 winner over the Triton Central Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Eastern Hancock was the victim of a rough 48-28 loss at the hands of the Tigers on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eastern Hancock has scored all season.

Eastern Hancock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayden Ruble, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Luke Morris was another key contributor, scoring three points.

Triton Central found their leader in underclassman Eli Sego, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sego has scored at least a third of Triton Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Blair, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Eastern Hancock now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Triton Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Eastern Hancock will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Blackhawks at 1:30 p.m. Cowan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three contests. As for Triton Central, they will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
