Softball Recap: Weiser's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Weiser dropped their record down to 13-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Nampa Christian Trojans by a score of 2-1. The game marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Madi Janicek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Weiser saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Shirts, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.

As for Nampa Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 11th.

On Nampa Christian's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Peyton Shook gave up only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks.

Coming up, Weiser will be playing at home against Payette at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. Nampa Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
