Softball Recap: Southridge Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Southridge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Northeast Dubois Jeeps. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered a 6-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kenley Ferguson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Wilkey, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Southridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Northeast Dubois, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Southridge has already played their next match, a 7-0 win against Pike Central on the 1st. Northeast Dubois has also already played their next game (against Wood Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
