Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Juan Diego Catholic

Juan Diego Catholic extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-11 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 15-14 W against the Tooele Buffaloes. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-1 victory on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Castle Huggard, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Nick Richardson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Juan Diego Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Tooele, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That lines up perfectly with their 6-18 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.

On Tooele's side, Jett Pratt and Matthew Barnard stepped up to the plate in a big way. The timing is sure in the Soaring Eagle's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Bruins have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Tooele does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
