Fairfax falls despite strong effort from Cam Love

Recap: Fairfax Lions vs. West Potomac Wolverines
If the Fairfax Lions were feeling good off their 71-46 takedown of the Robinson Rams last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fairfax took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Potomac on Monday. Fairfax was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Potomac apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Fairfax still got an impressive performance from Cam Love, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Elijah Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Fairfax's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for West Potomac, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfax will take on Woodson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 339 points over their last five matchups. As for West Potomac, they will be playing at home against Lake Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Braddock is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
