Ponderosa came into Friday's game looking for another win against Castle View, but Bubba Wyatt wouldn't allow it. The Castle View Sabercats walked away with a 61-54 win over the Ponderosa Mustangs on Friday thanks in part to Wyatt, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Evan Mckean, who posted 11 points and six steals. He has become a key player for Castle View: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 4-10 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Ponderosa lost, don't look at Ryan Tongren. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 10 to rack up 21 points. Tongren is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Cooper Norman was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Castle View's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Ponderosa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Coming up, Castle View will face off against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chaparral knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Castle View likes a good challenge. As for Ponderosa, they will head out on the road to challenge Douglas County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponderosa is facing Douglas County at the right time seeing as Douglas County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
