Basketball Recap: Community Skates Past Battle Creek with Ease

Community can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 61-20 stomp they got against the Battle Creek Grizzlies. That looming 61-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings/Viqueens yet this season.

Community's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Yoes, who posted nine points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Yoes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Pearson, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Community's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Battle Creek, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Community will head out to take on Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Battle Creek, they will host Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
