Basketball Recap: Bentley Kaliski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Walhalla over Daniel

Walhalla lost against Daniel last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Walhalla Razorbacks came up short against the Daniel Lions, falling 67-46. While losing is never fun, the Razorbacks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Lions are ranked 65th).

Several Razorbacks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bentley Kaliski, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Jack Williams, who scored nine points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Walhalla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Leading Daniel to victory were Tristyn Carrington and Will Swann. Carrington went 7 of 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Swann put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Epting, who had nine points.

Walhalla's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Daniel, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Walhalla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-52 defeat against Tallulah Falls on the 14th. As for Daniel, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-68 loss against Shiloh on the 14th.
