Basketball Recap: Harrison Central Red Rebels vs. Hancock Hawks

The Harrison Central Red Rebels waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They blew past Hancock 51-31. Given Harrison Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Hawks are ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harrison Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aujaylen Barron, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Barron is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Pace, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Harrison Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Hancock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Harrison Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hancock will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
