Basketball Recap: Santa Gertrudis Academy Takes a Loss

Santa Gertrudis Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Bishop Badgers 71-44. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Badgers: they've now lost four in a row.

It was another big night for Kristian Ramos, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 boards for Bishop. Ramos' evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trysten Trejo, who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points.

Santa Gertrudis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Bishop, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Falfurrias the next time they take the court. Santa Gertrudis Academy will host Falfurrias at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bishop will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
