Football Game Preview: Monmouth Regional Falcons vs. Shore Regional Blue Devils

Monmouth Regional hasn't had much luck against Shore Regional recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will square off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Monmouth Regional's defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so Shore Regional's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Shore Regional will be up against a hot Monmouth Regional squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Falcons beat Keansburg on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 21-6.

Monmouth Regional's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Corwin led the charge by throwing for 216 yards and three TDs. Corwin's passing game has become a key predictor of the Falcons' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Monmouth Regional also got a significant boost from Tyler Gustafson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 141 yards.

Meanwhile, Shore Regional strolled past Colts Neck with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 35-21.

Monmouth Regional's record now sits at 5-2. As for Shore Regional, their record is now 4-2.

Monmouth Regional was dealt a bruising 28-0 defeat at the hands of Shore Regional when the teams last played back in October of 2023. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
