Softball Recap: Danville Wins Going Away Against Southern Columbia Area

Danville got themselves on the board against Southern Columbia Area on Monday, but Southern Columbia Area never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Tigers. The Ironmen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Maclin Hickey, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Southern Columbia Area off the board. Hickey has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Breece Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Brianna Blue was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Danville's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Southern Columbia Area, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Danville will be playing in front of their home fans against Warrior Run at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Defenders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Ironmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southern Columbia Area, they will square off against Bloomsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
