Football Game Preview: Exeter Monarchs vs. Immanuel Eagles + How To Watch

Exeter is a perfect 5-0 against Immanuel since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Monarchs will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Exeter and Selma have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 35-14 victory. The win continues a trend for the Monarchs in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Exeter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mykael Luna led the charge by rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Luna has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Robertson, who gained 75 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Immanuel got themselves on the board against Hanford West on Friday, but Hanford West never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Huskies 49-0. Considering the Eagles have won eight games by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Exeter now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Immanuel, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Exeter was able to grind out a solid win over Immanuel when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 35-28. Will the Monarchs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
