Baseball Game Preview: Santa Monica Vikings vs. Culver City Centaurs

For the second straight game, Santa Monica will face off against Culver City. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Centaurs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Monica is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Santa Monica will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Culver City, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Centaurs on Tuesday.

Gavin Kirtley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Blue Hunter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Jaxson Ehlers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Santa Monica's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Culver City, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.
