Softball Recap: Morton's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Deal, Morton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lubbock T Titans with a sharp 25-18 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Indians needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Morton got a massive performance out of Alison Yanez, who scored five runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabryela Ramon, who scored four runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Morton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .804. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the win, Morton broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morton will head out to square off against Lockney at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Morton is facing Lockney at the right time seeing as Lockney is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Lubbock T will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on O'Donnell at 5:30 p.m. on March 24th.
