One of the best came from D'Onta Settles-Shelly, who rushed for 65 yards and one score on only six carries, and also threw for 98 yards and one TD. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run. Jermaine Samuel was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.
North Platte had taken Columbus down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Bulldogs were outmatched by the Discoverers and fell 42-6. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Benson, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
