Recap: Cinnaminson Pirates vs. Westampton Tech Panthers
It was a good run, but the Cinnaminson Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Westampton Tech 50-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cinnaminson has scored all season.
Daelan Dickerson was the offensive standout of the match as he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Henry Njoga was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four blocks.
Cinnaminson's defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Westampton Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cinnaminson will take on Bordentown at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bordentown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Cinnaminson is ranked 57th). As for Westampton Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Doane Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Doane Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Westampton Tech likes a good challenge.
