Basketball Recap: Green Mountain Starts off Right with Win over Boulder + How To Watch

Green Mountain gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Boulder Panthers 74-54. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sam Mielenz went supernova, going 10-for-18 en route to 29 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jake Swanson, who put up 14 points and seven boards.

Green Mountain was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They racked up eight more assists than Boulder's also-impressive total of 11.

Boulder's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lake Smith, who had 16 points and six assists. Declan Stoddard was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Looking ahead, Green Mountain will be playing at home against Frederick at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boulder, they and Grandview will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
