Volleyball Recap: Lena Wildcats vs. Elcho Hornets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lena can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Elcho Hornets on Thursday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in October of 2019.
While Lena ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21.
Elcho was led to victory by Kayla Siemers and Payton Malitz. Siemers had 17 digs and one assist, while Malitz had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Malitz has posted over her last six matches.
Lena has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Elcho, they now have a winning record of 16-15.
