Volleyball Recap: Tallmadge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Barberton on Tuesday, Tallmadge came back down to earth. The Blue Devils lost 3-0 to the Highland Hornets on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-8, 25-9.

Eva Arnold paced Tallmadge's offense, picking up six kills. Arnold got some help from Sophie Worthington and her seven assists.

Carley Niese was nothing short of spectacular for Highland: she had 19 digs and one assist. Niese has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Tallmadge now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Tallmadge has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Revere on the 30th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Barberton on the 30th.
