Volleyball Recap: Cary-Grove Comes Up Short

Cary-Grove lost against Central back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Trojans fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Cary-Grove sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 15-25, 25-11.

Leading Central to victory were Makenna Manganiello and Keaton Campbell. Manganiello had nine digs and eight assists, while Campbell had three digs and three aces.

Cary-Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cary-Grove is set to challenge their familiar foe McHenry at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Central will square off against rival Jacobs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
