Baseball Recap: Bentonville West Drops Highest Score of Season Against Springdale

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bentonville West). They blew past the Springdale Bulldogs 10-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Damion Bridgeman made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Bentonville West got a great performance from Will Geiger as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Geiger a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, Kadean Jacobs was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Levi Driggs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Bentonville West's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Springdale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Bentonville West will have a chance to go back-to-back against Springdale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
