The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos will face off against the Marion Giants at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lafayette Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Lafayette Jefferson was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Anderson on Saturday. The Bronchos put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 13-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bronchos considering their two-run performance the match before.

Sayler Teal made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lafayette Jefferson got a massive performance out of Rilee Clifton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Clifton has posted since back in April. Maya Thomas was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Lafayette Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Kokomo.
Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zionna Cole, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Lafayette Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
Everything went Lafayette Jefferson's way against Marion when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Lafayette Jefferson made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Bronchos repeat their success, or do the Giants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
