Soccer Game Preview: Davenport North vs. Davenport West

Davenport North has gone a perfect 9-0 against Davenport West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Davenport North's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Davenport North's offense. They came up short against Bettendorf on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Davenport North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Bettendorf are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, Davenport West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Wilton. That's two games in a row now that Davenport West have lost by exactly 11 goals.

Davenport North's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-2. As for Davenport West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Davenport North's way against Davenport West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Davenport North made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
