Baseball Game Preview: Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles vs. Rockingham County Cougars

Ben L. Smith is 0-8 against Rockingham County since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Rockingham County Cougars at 6:30 p.m.

Ben L. Smith can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to Atkins. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rockingham County). They blew past Southern Guilford 10-1 on Friday. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Nate Revis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Brady Ross also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
