Basketball Game Preview: Southland College Prep vs. Coal City Coalers

Southland College Prep and the Coal City Coalers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Southland College Prep had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Morris on Monday as they made off with a 54-34 win.

Southland College Prep found their leader in sophomore Tristan Garner, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Robert Boyd Jr., who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, Coal City gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They secured a 44-39 W over Gardner-South Wilmington. The Coalers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Southland College Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Coal City in their previous meeting back in February, winning 76-64. Does Southland College Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coal City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
