Baseball Recap: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Comes Up Short

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was the 12-0 winner over Cumberland when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights came up short against the Pirates on Monday, falling 9-2. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Butcher, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Maxton Boddy was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-7. As for Cumberland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will square off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cumberland, they will challenge Altamont at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
