Basketball Recap: Window Rock Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kourtney Bitselley and Alaina Begaye

Window Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 65-39 to the Tuba City Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Scouts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-45 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Window Rock had strong showings from Alaina Begaye, who posted six points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Kourtney Bitselley, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Cauleen Segay, who earned five points and five rebounds.

Natasha Acothley was nothing short of spectacular for Tuba City: she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Tuba City is 9-3 when Acothley posts ten or more rebounds, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Begaye, who put up 12 points.

Window Rock's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Tuba City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Window Rock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-57 defeat against Monument Valley on the 1st. Tuba City has also already played their next contest, a 56-55 loss against Page on the 3rd.
