Baseball Recap: Cullman Comes Up Short

Cullman and Southside squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cullman had to settle for second. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 17-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bearcats have suffered since April 11, 2025.

Carson Stancil made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tyler Brock, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cullman's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Southside, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-15 record this season.

While Cullman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
