Softball Recap: Gridley Takes a Loss

Gridley was the 7-3 winner over Orland when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs lost 14-4 to the Trojans on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Delanie Cloyd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Gridley's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Orland, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Gridley will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The Bulldogs are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Orland, they will face off against Las Plumas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
